THIS WEEK in 1979: The classic Rock 'n' Roll movie turning the 60's B-Movies on its head with a PUNK update. The original script was called DISCO HIGH!?! This is the soundtrack version produced by Ed Stasium prior to the band recording with Phil Spector.
2. COME BACK JONEE by DEVO
THIS WEEK in 1978: Produced by Brian Eno from their debut Long Player, Are We Not Men?. Also appeared in the soundtrack to, "Rock 'N' Roll High School".
3. JANE SAYS by Jane's Addiction
THIS WEEK in 1988: One of the best tracks of the 80s, from Jane's Addiction's Long Player, Nothing's Shocking.
4. THE GHOST IN YOU by The Psychedelic Furs
THIS WEEK in 1984: From their forth Long Player, Mirror Moves.
5. HONKY TONK (Part 1) by Bill Doggett
THIS WEEK in 1956: The biggest R&B hit of 1956! #2 on the Hot 100 for three weeks and #1 R&B for thirteen weeks! The Sound of the Summer from 1956.
6. CHOO CHOO CH'BOOGIE by Louis Jordan & His Tympany Five
THIS WEEK in 1946: The Sound of the Summer from 1946. Tells the story of a service man coming home from the war and trying to find work. The Jump Blues / Jukebox Race Record classic was #1 for eighteen weeks! 
7. PROLOGUE/CRUNCHY GRANOLA SUITE by Neil Diamond
THIS WEEK in 1972: Ten SOLD OUT nights at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and one of the best live Long Player's ever, Hot August Night. #1 in Australia for 29 weeks (that's seven months)!
8. SUSIE-Q by Dale Hawkins
THIS WEEK in 1966: Swamp Rock Boogie from the pioneer American Rockabilly singer. The original version best known by the CCR cover.

THIS WEEK in 1979: Their sixth Long Player, Degüello.
• SONIC HISTORY LESSON: The story behind Dear Prudence
India with The Maharishi, four Beatles, four blonde Beatle girlfriends, three Beach Boys, Donovan, Mia Farrow, and her sister Prudence.
12. DEAR PRUDENCE (RockBand mix) by The Beatles
THIS WEEK in 1968: The Beatles record "Dear Prudence", which John had written in India. From their double-disc Long Player, The Beatles (AKA The White Album).

THIS WEEK in 1963: The full length version of the #1 hit from the 12 Year Old Genius, Little Stevie Wonder. Recorded live at a Motwon Revue show in Chicago with Marvin Gaye on drums! Stevie became the youngest person ever to have a number one on the Billboard Hot 100. 
2. IN THE BASEMENT by Etta James & Sugar Pie Desanto
THIS WEEK in 1966: "Where can you go, when your money is low? Down in the basement. that's where it's at!"
3. PAPA'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG by James Brown
THIS WEEK in 1965: The classic #1 R&B hit from Soul Brother Number One!
4. STOP THE TRAIN by The Wailers
THIS WEEK in 1970: The debut Long Player from Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. Despite its BEST OF title it was not a compilation.
5. CAN'T STAND LOSING YOU by The Police
THIS WEEK in 1978: From their debut Long Player, Outlandos d'Amour. Was a huge hit when it was re-released a year later in June 1979.
6. BANKROBBER by The Clash
THIS WEEK in 1980: The stand alone single, produced by Reggae Man, Mikey Dread. Later appeared on the compilation, Black Market Clash.
• SONIC HISTORY LESSON: Watts Riots
THIS WEEK in 1965: Large scale riots in Los Angeles and in many cities in the UK, all on the same week 46 years apart. The LA riots of 1965 started on Aug 11th and lasted 5 days in the Watts section of Los Angeles. The riots were sparked when a CHP officer pulled over and arrested a drunk driver, but refused to let the drivers brother drive the car home and radioed to have the car impounded. A large crowd formed around the confrontation. Years of unease and resentment boiled to the surface.
• SONIC HISTORY LESSON: UK Riots
THIS WEEK in 2011: Large scale riots in numerous cities in the United Kingdom. The UK riots started on Aug 6th 'til the 10th. What happened?!? Many questions have got to be answered, but the RIGHT questions need to be asked. Comedian Russell Brand has an interesting take on the whole thing. The SONY DADC warehouse which housed discs for over 205 indie record labels burned to the ground destroying 25 million discs.
7. TROUBLE EVERY DAY by The Mothers of Invention
THIS WEEK in 1966: Known as the "Watts Riot song", this was the debut 45 from Frank Zappa's band The Mothers of Invention. Appeared on their debut Long Player, Freak Out!
8. BARABAJAGAL (LOVE IS HOT) by Donovan
THIS WEEK in 1969: The lead track from Donovan's 7th Long Player, Barabajagal. Backed by The Jeff Beck Group. At the time of its release, due to contractual obligations the LP was prevented from being released in the UK.
9. MOTORPSYCHO NITEMARE (Mono) by Bob Dylan
THIS WEEK in 1964: The hilarious tale of a young travelin' man needing a place to sleep for the night. From Dylan's 4th Long Player, Another Side of Bob Dylan.
10. I DON'T WANT TO FALL IN LOVE by Sam Phillips
THIS WEEK in 1988: Switching gears from Christian rock to secular Alternative, "Leslie Phillips" becomes "Sam Philips". From Sam's 5th Long Player, The Indescribable Wow, produced by T-Bone Burnett.
11. HOLD WHAT YOU GOT by Joe Tex
THIS WEEK in 1977: The Top #5 Pop, #1 R&B Million selling single recorded at Muscle Shoals in Alabama.

12. HEROIN (THEME FROM CAPTIVE) by The Edge with Michael Brook feat. Sinéad O'Conner
U2 guitarist, The Edge composed the original score to the film, "Captive". This was the Main Theme and the first ever released recording of Sinéad O'Conner.
