THIS WEEK in 1971: Intended for the aborted SMiLE Long Player in 1966, shelved until it appeared on their 17th Long Player, Surf's Up. Lead vocals from Carl Wilson. 
9. THE DRUGS DON'T WORK by The Verve
THIS WEEK in 1997: #1 in UK. The Verve's second single from their breakthrough Long Player, Urban Hymns.
10. SLAP AND TICKLE (single version) by Squeeze
THIS WEEK in 1979: From their New Wave classic Long Player, Cool For Cats.
11. I TRAVEL by Simple Minds
THIS WEEK in 1980: The Scottish band's third Long Player, Empires And Dance.
12. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME by Culture Club
THIS WEEK in 1982: The world-wide smash hit was their third single in the UK and the debut 45 in North America. #1 in UK, #1 in Canada and #2 in US (couldn't shake Billie Jean from the top). From their debut Long Player, Kissing To Be Clever.
13. IMIDIWAN MA TENNAM by Tinariwen feat. Nels Cline
THIS WEEK in 2011:  The new Long Player, Tassili from the great North African Desert Blues band, Tinariwen. Tracks features guest Nels Cline (Wilco) on guitar.

THIS WEEK in 1968: The lead single from the ground breaking Long Player, Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Written by Bob Dylan, this version came out three years prior to any Dylan recording released. New band member, Gram Parsons has a huge influence on the sound and direction of The Byrds.
